The clever folk at IKEA have come with a very lovely thing. Earlier this month, they launched a virtual marriage service called Wedding Online, that allows couples to “tie the knot in front of family and friends”, with the entire internet bearing witness.
It works by using realtime webcam images of guests and digitally transposing them on to 2D bodies set in dreamy wedding backgrounds. Hey presto, a virtual wedding!
It’s probably not legally binding but who cares; it’s an inspired piece of work. As long as you can navigate the Swedish-only text, that is.
